The easiest and best Controller
The easiest and best Controller
I am a beginner.
I want to buy a controller for crazyflie.
What is the easiest and most simple joystick (Controller)?
1. Xbox 360 Controller
2. Xbox ONE Controller
3. PS3 Controller
4. PS4 Controller
Thanks.

Re: The easiest and best Controller
I think all four choices work equally as well and it really just comes down to what you're most comfortable with. Sometimes that's just a function of what gaming system you've used the most... In that regard, I'm partial to the PS3 controller.
Crazyflier - my CF journal...
4x Crazyflie Nano (1.0) 10-DOF + NeoPixel Ring mod.
3x Crazyflie 2.0 + Qi Charger and LED Decks.
Raspberry Pi Ground Control.
Mac OS X Dev Environment.
Walkera Devo7e, ESky ET6I, PS3 and iOS Controllers.

Re: The easiest and best Controller
I went out and bought an Xbox One controller and bought a PS4 bundle, turns out I prefer the ps4 controller because the triggers seem easier (for me) to use for throttle. Xbox One sticks are somewhat more sensitive and I get unnecessary roll/pitch when I just rest my fingers on them.
That could be me, but I'd like to point it out.

Re: The easiest and best Controller
I have the Logitech Rumble Gamepad F510. Works nicely, also from Linux. You can put it into either Xinput mode or DirectInput mode.
Re: The easiest and best Controller
I'm partial to the PS3 controller since I've been using it ever since we flew the first Crazyflie prototype. The PS4 is also good, but I'm not a big fan of the original Xbox controller (haven't tested the other ones). The analog axis is stiff and not centered when you release the sticks, but that could just be the one we have at the office Initially we were using mix of PS3/Xbox controllers, since we had different gaming consoles at home. But after a while we all switched to the PS3 controller.

I have a pair of Xbox 360 controllers and they are quite bad for this. Idling my sticks can read over 30%.marcus wrote:I'm partial to the PS3 controller since I've been using it ever since we flew the first Crazyflie prototype.
